Grades 1-5 Going to Symphony Concert (Oct. 27)

On Tuesday, October 27th, Tate's students in grades 1-5 will be attending the 2009 Fall Young People's Concert presented by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in the Civic Auditorium.  Students need to wear their Tate's uniform and are encouraged to arrive on time to school that day as the buses will be leaving at approximately 8:30 a.m.

This year's program is entitled "Musical Superheroes".  Some of the music that will be performed is:  "Symphony No. 94 ('Surprise')" by Joseph Haydn, "Concerto for Flute Harp and Orchestra" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Symphony No. 5" by Ludwig van Beethoven, "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" by Claude Debussy, and "Theme from Superman" by John Williams.

Every composer has a specialty or a "superpower".  It might not be incredible strength or speed, but composers can make you feel emotions you did not feel before you heard their music.  Sometimes composers may make you feel like you are flying or their music may make you laugh.  As always, this concert promises to be a wonderful experience for Tate's students, and we are looking forward to attending.
