...Accelerated Academic Programs
Tate's School of Discovery is dedicated
to providing for all aspects of a child's development - academic,
social, physical and emotional. Tate's "discovery system"
produces happy, accomplished and confident students who enjoy
school and consistently perform above average on achievement
tests.
Pre-K
Scientists have proven what Tate's has
known for years: the human brain has the greatest learning
capacity during the early years of a child's life. Inspired
by this theory, Tate's preschool program provides a fun,
but structured environment geared to addressing each child's
developmental level. Tate's teachers strive to channel each
child's natural curiosity through various instructional
methods including age-appropriate hands-on activities, manipulatives,
learning centers and exploratory programs.
Kindergarten
Tate's Kindergarten program is designed
to provide an environment that encourages each child to
develop as an individual and as a student. Through thematic
units, the children are taught Language Arts, Math, Writing,
Science, Health and Social Studies. Tate's Kindergarten
students also enjoy classes in the subject areas of Art,
Music, Technology and Spanish. The varied curriculum and
activities encourage thinking, problem solving, collaborating
and creative expression.
Grades 1-5
Tate's 1st - 5th grade academic curriculum
challenges each child to learn and excel at their own pace.
Our goal is for each student to become an active lifelong
learner - questioning, researching, investigating and discovering.
The academic curriculum emphasizes advanced learning in
the areas of Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
The school's academic schedule is enhanced with exciting
courses in Technology, Physical Education, Spanish, Art
and Music. This student-centered approach allows Tate's
teachers to help each child become a problem solver, decision
maker and critical thinker.

Under the guidance of Tate's Day Camp
Director, Chris Strevel - the After School Program allows
Tate's students to enjoy a full range of recreational activities
while allowing parents additional flexibility. Each day after
school, students can pick their passion - ranging from making
arts & crafts to playing sports to getting a head start
on homework in a quiet study hall.
