Tate's Middle School

Tate’s School is founded upon the belief that a superior educational experience in the early years builds a solid foundation for secondary and post-secondary education, preparing students with knowledge and skills for a lifetime. Our goal will always be to help children reach their optimum potential intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

Two fourth graders conducting a science experiment.Tate’s Middle School will continue to offer an accelerated, 21st-century curriculum that instills academic excellence and a love of learning in our students. Students in sixth grade will be challenged to think critically and creatively in a structured environment where excellence is rewarded and individual effort is encouraged. We will focus on providing a safe environment for students to explore teamwork, leadership skills, and appropriate communication while boosting self-confidence and increasing emotional intelligence. Lessons are carefully crafted to foster children’s own natural curiosity, instilling a true love of learning. Small class sizes of 16 students each will allow for personalized instruction that is an integral part of Tate’s School.

Utilizing our 52 acre campus as an extension of our classrooms, our curriculum will continue to include personal experience, hands-on activities, collaborative learning, and off-site learning experiences. Tate’s Middle School will include caring, enthusiastic, well-educated faculty and staff who are dedicated to assisting our students with their intellectual development, and empowering the students to become successful, productive, accountable young men and women of sound character and reputation.

STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and MathematicsTate’s Middle School will offer a rigorous academic curriculum. Instruction will be based on standards for college preparatory level work, encouraging every student to accept age appropriate challenges through enrollment in advanced level and Pre-AP courses. Our STEAM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) will be interwoven into lessons across all content areas.

Each student will be provided instruction tailored to their academic readiness, interests, and learning styles. Students will continue to receive in-depth instruction in Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies with an emphasis on critical and creative thinking in the context of real world problem solving. As students focus on academic success, they will also learn how to develop a “Growth Mindset,” where challenges are welcomed, mistakes are viewed opportunities, and perseverance is the norm.
