STEM Innovative Leaders Institute Conference

October 29, 2014
By Kaye Gardner Simmons

As you know, Tate's School was the first elementary school in the state to become a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) campus.

Very recently, Misty Anderson, our technology specialist, and I were selected for the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network's Innovative Leaders Institute. We were chosen from a group of state wide applicants to participate with other principals and school leaders in a six day interactive series of workshops.

We had a terrific time learning about the latest STEM strategies and innovative instructional techniques to impact teacher practices and student achievement. We're looking forward to putting some of these ideas and strategies in place in the coming months!
