By Tate's School

Tate's School was selected to participate in the TSIN STEM Innovative Leaders Institute. TSIN is a unique public-private collaboration between the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) and Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle) designed to promote and expand the teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in K-12 schools across Tennessee.

Recently, Misty Anderson, Technology Specialist, and Kaye Simmons, Principal, attended the second of three workshops at the STEM School of Chattanooga, TN. They toured the school's Fab Lab and participated in learning around innovation, critical thinking, and collaboration.

"We are excited to bring back wonderful ideas for our new middle school!", Kaye stated. Stay tuned for more in April.

Tate's School congratulates alum Brandon Rochelle for being named as one of the Greater Knoxville Business Journal's 40 Under Forty.

This group is represented by individuals who make a living in our community and who make the community a better place in which to live. They also lend their time and talents to helping others.

Brandon is President and Technical Director of Designsensory. He educates nonprofits, businesses and government agencies about how to best use technology to reach new customers, inform loyal ones and make informed business decision. Recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Tennessee by Inc. 5000, Designsensory opened a second office in Nashville in October and employs roughly 40 people.

Brandon says, "My love of learning began at Tate's. The small classroom sizes and individual attention that I received from my teachers instilled an appetite for knowledge that I still have today."

Tate's is very proud of you, Brandon!
