ART TEACHER – 4 Days a week

We are currently accepting resumes for an art instructor for visual/fine arts for Preschool – 8th Grade. You would have access to a metal forge, potters wheels, and work just four days a week on a beautiful 54-acre campus. Tate’s School is celebrating our 58th year this fall. Join Us! PRESCHOOL TEACHER (4 YR OLD CLASSROOM)

We are seeking a Preschool Teacher that is highly skilled, effective, and cheerful, who cares deeply about the education and well-being of the whole child. Individuals should have excellent classroom management skills and be experienced with the inquiry based, child-centered process. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching with an emphasis on differentiating instruction and using assessments effectively. Planning weekly units that are engaging and meaningful.
  • Working collaboratively with children in exploratory and STEAM project-based learning.
  • Creating an inclusive environment through regular class meetings, supportive exchanges with students, and clear expectations for community behavior.
  • Fostering independent and creative thinkers who develop a Growth Mindset to become fearless learners.
  • Teaching Preschool advanced curriculum.
  • Utilizing the many outdoor classrooms and learning spaces (teaching garden, pond, orchard, forest) in lessons regularly.
  • Working and communicating effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports, class newsletters, and school events.
  • Supporting and following the school policies.
  • Being a positive and contributing member of the professional community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (related to early childhood education preferred)
  • At least three years of prior experience as a successful lead classroom teacher is preferred
  • Collaborative work ethic
  • Love of Learning
  • Good sense of humor and warm demeanor
