Tate’s School is proud to celebrate our Middle School art instructor, Mrs. Carol Vinson, who has been selected by the Tennessee Art Education Association (TAEA) as the 2026 National Art Honor Society Sponsor of the Year. This distinguished recognition honors her outstanding leadership, dedication to art education, and commitment to inspiring young artists at Tate’s School and beyond.
Since joining the Tate’s faculty, Mrs. Vinson has been a passionate advocate for the arts and for empowering students to express themselves creatively. In 2018, she founded Tate’s School’s National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) chapter—part of the National Art Education Association’s Honor Society program. Through her vision and leadership, the chapter has become a thriving part of campus life, giving students opportunities to grow as artists, leaders, and citizens.
The NJAHS recognizes middle school students who demonstrate both artistic talent and academic excellence. Under Mrs. Vinson’s guidance, Tate’s members have participated in numerous community service and campus beautification projects, using their artistic skills to make a positive impact.
“Mrs. Vinson’s influence goes far beyond the classroom,” said Principal Kaye Simmons. “She challenges students to see the beauty in the world around them and to use their creativity to make a difference. Her passion for art and her dedication to our students embody everything we value at Tate’s.”
The TAEA National Art Honor Society Sponsor of the Year Award recognizes educators who demonstrate exceptional leadership in promoting the visual arts and nurturing student success. Receiving this statewide honor is a reflection of Mrs. Vinson’s years of hard work, creativity, and commitment to art education.
We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Vinson for this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the joy, creativity, and inspiration she brings to our campus every day. Congratulations, Mrs. Vinson!
